What We Need
We are seeking a Senior Copywriter based in our Minneapolis headquarters acting as the primary copywriter and a key concepter in creating original ideas and concepts for assigned clients and projects.
What You'll Do
- The Senior Copywriter defines the voice for client, presents work and supports ideas with consumer insights and rationale by:
- Establishing and maintaining high creative standards
- Ensuring fresh thinking, strong relationships and award-winning work
- Acting as lead writer on projects and client brands
- Providing mentorship direction and guidance to other team members
- Participating in developing ideas for new business and may be assigned high profile client accounts
- Taking direction from creative leadership team
- Working collaboratively in a team situation with a designer and CD/ACD
- Generating, communicating, and executing creative work via the written word.
- Building strong credibility and good working relationships with clients
- Develop a working knowledge of client's communication standards and style to ensure product integrity
- Interpreting creative briefs and creating concepts
- Providing leadership on client projects.
- Promoting awareness of Carlson Marketing through active participation in industry associations
What You'll Need
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in agency or design firm
- Bachelors degree in Design, Journalism or Communications
- Portfolio demonstrating strong creative copywriting concepts and execution
- Must be fluent and experienced in writing for print and online
- Present persuasively to clients with excellent client facing skills
- Self-directed, responsible, able to meet deadlines
- Stays current and on-trend in the industry
- Diverse multi-disciplinary experience, including but not limited to: retail, promotions, retail merchandising and environments, packaging, identity advertising (both print and broadcast), direct, interactive, collateral systems, and brand image design
